چکیده

Abstract. The understanding of neutron transport by Monte Carlo simulations led to major advancements towards precise interpretation measurements. URANOS (Ultra Rapid Neutron-Only Simulation) is a free software package which has been developed in the last few years cooperation with particle physics and environmental sciences, specifically for purposes cosmic-ray sensing (CRNS). Its versatile user interface input/output scheme tailored CRNS applications offers hydrologists straightforward access model individual scenarios directly perform advanced calculations. geometry can be modeled layer-wise, whereas each layer voxel extruded using two-dimensional map from pixel images representing predefined materials allowing construction objects on basis graphics without three-dimensional editor. It furthermore features spectra detector configurations also allows replication important site characteristics study areas – small pond catchment scale. simulation thereby gives answers questions like location do neutrons originate? How they propagate sensor? What neutron's response certain changes? In recent years, successfully employed number studies, example, calculate footprint, signals complex geometries mobile roads, urban environments snow patterns.

Adaptable Simulation Models for Manufacturing

Discrete-event simulation is a powerful tool for solving many problems, especially in manufacturing. Formulating the problem, building the simulation model, running the model, and analyzing the output are the basic steps in a simulation study. Because building a simulation model can be a difficult and time-consuming task, it will be useful if a decision-maker could reuse a simulation model if p...

The Spallation Target for the Ultra Cold Neutron Source Ucn

A source of ultra cold neutrons, based on the spallation process is under construction at PSI. With the help of a fast kicker the whole ~1 MW proton beam (590 MeV, 2 mA) from the accelerator will be switched onto the UCN spallation target for approximately 8 seconds every 15 minutes. The spallation neutrons are thermalized in a large heavywater moderator at room temperature and further cooled i...
